Accessibility questions
Is Therapy Chorlton accessible?
Therapy Chorlton is not fully accessible. Therapy Room 1 is accessible for people using walking aids. There are a couple of very small sloped transitions between the room and the front door. It may be accessible to wheelchair users, depending on the size of the wheelchair. Each room has a sofa to ensure there is comfortable seating no matter your body size. Please speak directly to your therapist for more information.
Do you have toilets?
We currently have one toilet on the ground floor adjacent to Therapy Room 1, with another due to open soon. The toilets are fitted with flashing fire-alarm beacons to ensure safety.
How much does it cost? Do you offer low-cost therapy?
Each therapist sets their own prices, you can see them all listed here. Some therapists offer reduced fees for people in receipt of benefits, students; please contact them individually to find out more details.
If you are struggling to pay for therapy, we recommend checking out the free and low-cost services in Manchester. We particularly recommend:
Face-to-Face Counselling, an independent, non-profit-making organisation run by volunteers. It is geared towards clients aged 18 and over, on no income or low income (up to £23,000 per annum), resident in the Greater Manchester area. Clients contribute £5-£20 per session, based on a sliding fee scale. They are based in Chorlton-cum-Hardy, South Manchester and offer 1:1 counselling for adults (18 & over) on low income with sessions available in person, by telephone and online (information correct as of September 2024).
The Monastery Manchester, which is a free listening and counselling service with qualified practitioners each day from Sunday to Thursday; sessions can be booked online. They offer up to 8 sessions of free counselling, or 3 sessions with the listening service
Are you trans-inclusive? Are you LGBTQ+ inclusive?
All of our therapists adhere to ethical standards, and a number are queer-identifying and experienced working with trans, queer, gender-questioning and curious people. Please take a look at their profiles for more information.
Are you sensory-friendly?
Therapists can control heating and lighting in their rooms, and rooms have been designed to have plenty of soft lighting available. There are plenty of blankets and cushions. All therapists commit to avoiding scented room oils or diffusers. Talk to your therapist if there are additional adjustments you would like.
Do you have a waiting room?
We do not have a waiting room or receptionist. Please try not to arrive early for your appointment as the therapist may not be able to answer the door until they are read to see you.
